Resources for Adults

We offer a variety of programs and services for adults of the bleeding disorder community. Because comprehensive care is vital to all people with bleeding disorders, the Association supports the Adult Comprehensive Bleeding Disorders Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. PCH is also the location of the adult treatment program so don’t let the name fool you. Christi Worman, RN, is the nurse coordinator for adult care and can be contacted at 602-546-0163. The Association has representatives at each adult clinic to assist adults with translation, and other services. We are also there to provide information about the bleeding disorder community and its activities.

When financial emergencies arise, the Association can respond with its Family Assistance program designed to help individuals and families with monetary support. The Association also offers counseling services for individuals or families, and support group meetings designed to facilitate discussion, answer questions, and build community.

Patient advocacy is a large part of the Association’s role in the bleeding disorder community. We are here to assist you with problems you may have with your health insurance company, your factor provider, your employer, even your doctor as it relates to your bleeding disorder care, or ability to live a normal life.

For individuals and families of the hemophilia/HIV community, we conduct an annual HIV retreat that encompasses friendship, education, support, and recreation.
